Welcome. You have come to the right pace to think and learn about parenting! This is the home of my parenting blog (Thinking Parenting) and also where you can find out about parenting seminars and coaching from The Positive Parenting Project.
There is no such thing as a perfect parent (thank goodness). Having studied parenting and child development, my goal is to help parents find ways to use positive parenting strategies in the real world, in their real families.
As a parenting expert, you might think that I ought to be pretty good at parenting but (as you’ll see from my more confessional blog posts) in fact I just feel a lot more guilty when I get it wrong… Parenting isn’t easy and the most we can realistically hope for is to learn from our mistakes quickly and not repeat them too often.
So, in the spirit of helping you learn – from my own mistakes, from my experiences working with parents, from developmental psychology and clinical research – the blog posts aim to help you think about parenting, share useful parenting strategies and signpost you to ideas, resources and sources of support.
For information about workplace seminars, coaching or how I can support you individually, hop over to The Positive Parenting Project. If you want regular parenting advice and tips delivered straight to your Inbox then sign up for monthly newsletters, follow me on Twitter (@thinking_parent) or join us on Facebook.
If you like what you read (or don’t!), please share and comment – I really want to hear what you think.
